We are excited to announce that we have launched a three year endowment campaign, "Make HOPE Last Forever". The campaign goals are:
- $1,000,000 during 2002
- $3,000,000 by the end of 2004
- Ultimately $5,000,000 to fund annual operations
Our Board is deeply committed to this effort. One hundred percent of the Board have personally pledged more that $100,000! When added to the $150,000 that is currently being managed by the Oklahoma United Methodist Foundation, it brings us to one-fourth of our goal for 2002. We have also received a challenge grant of $20,000 from the Tulsa Community Foundation, which requires us to raise $60,000 by March 2003.
Our Board believes this effort is vital to the long-term financial well being of the ministry. We believe a permanent endowment of five million dollars will eliminate our need to come to you with emergency appeals for operating funds. You know we have, from time to time, been forced to curtail some of our programs when we lacked sufficient funds to meet payroll and general expenses. Endowment earnings will meet this vital need.
We believe it is in the best interest of the church and our community that we remain financially able to provide the services our community has come to expect from us. We know it is distressing to you, to our church community, and to our friends every time we make emergency appeals for money. Our research and long-range strategic planning has led us to the conclusion that a properly managed endowment fund is the best long-term strategy to solve our financial needs.
How can you help? Spread the word of our ministry and it's benifits to the community. If we all work together, the HOPE will last forever.
