Poverty is a complex and dynamic problem in our society. It is urban, suburban, and rural. It affects people of all racial backgrounds and, unfortunately, affects a higher percentage of children than any other population group. The causes of financial crises that lead to poverty are myriad and cannot be simplified to merely “bad individual choices” or even “systemic oppression,” though both certainly play important roles.
We aim to provide helpful resources to understand poverty and ways to break the cycle of poverty. To learn more, check in regularly as we add resources on poverty in general and on the local church response to poverty specifically.
